O2 gifts a 10GB data boost to millions of customers to spread festive cheer this December

• Ofcom’s latest findings show that Brits used nearly a fifth (18%) more mobile data in 2025 than the previous year, totalling over 1.2 billion GB each month*.  

• To spread some festive cheer and help data-hungry customers to stay connected this festive season, O2 is gifting 10GB data throughout December to millions of customers at no extra cost.   

• The 10GB will automatically be applied to eligible customers’ monthly allowance, appearing on their account in December and in their MyO2 app.

Throughout December, millions of Pay Monthly mobile customers can enjoy an additional 10GB data to help them stay connected this Christmas – simply for being on O2.    

The data boost arrives as Ofcom’s annual Connected Nations report finds that Brits used nearly a fifth (18%) more mobile data in 2025 than the previous year, totalling over 1.2 billion GB each month. That’s the equivalent of streaming 400 million football matches in HD, watching 315 billion TikToks, or sending 1.3 quadrillion text-only WhatsApp messages.    

The 10GB data gift – perfect for video calling family, streaming festive films and gaming with friends – will automatically be applied to eligible customers’ December data allowance at no extra charge, meaning they can stream festive films, video call loved ones and stay connected in the moments that matter.

• All I want for Christmas…are tunes: Get into the festive spirt by streaming around 2,000+ songs. 

• Feliz Navi-(pick up the phone)-Dad!: Around 20–25 hours of video calls to loved ones. 

• Driving home for Christmas: Over 2,000 hours of navigation when driving home during the festive period. 

• O come, all ye gamers: Dozens of hours of mobile gaming or hundreds of app downloads, perfect for gaming on the go.
