O2 UK today announced that it will pay a cash reward of up to £1,000 to each eligible employee as part of its second annual ‘Thanks a Million’ reward scheme. O2 people were set the challenge of being number 1 for customer satisfaction in O2’s quarterly customer satisfaction surveys. At the end of December an independent research agency commissioned by O2 confirmed O2’s customers said they were “more satisfied “ than customers of O2’s network operator competitors, triggering a payment of over £15 million to staff. Eligible employees will receive their cash reward in March 2008 and all eligible employees who have been working with O2 since the introduction of the two-year Thanks a Million scheme will receive an additional £500 as well as the £1,000 as a reward for service. Ronan Dunne, Chief Executive, O2 UK commented: “O2 has more customers than any other network, so more care than ever is required to maintain our customer focus. I am proud of our customer satisfaction record and very proud of our employees who have worked so hard to achieve it. Through Thanks a Million we’re thanking our employees with a cash reward and thanking our customers with our continued dedication to satisfying them.” In 2006 the Thanks a Million goal was to add a million net customers and O2 awarded £10million to its staff. – ends –
