• Virgin Media O2 has selected Maxim 4, Maxim Park as its new Lanarkshire office, located 20 minutes from Glasgow
  • Around 350 employees, working across areas of the business including network expansion, technology and operations, will move to Maxim Park from its current site, Bellshill, in early 2025
  • Announcement follows competitive search aimed at finding new site that meets the needs of both the business and its people

Virgin Media O2 has announced that it has struck a deal that will see around 350 employees currently based at the company’s Bellshill office move to a new contemporary space in the heart of a thriving business community at Maxim Park early next year, extending the company’s presence in Lanarkshire beyond 25 years.

With the lease at its current site in Bellshill due to expire shortly, Virgin Media O2 began a competitive search primarily focused on finding a site with excellent amenities, a community feel, and that is located within a short distance of the company’s existing Bellshill office to minimise any disruption for its employees.

After a comprehensive review, Virgin Media O2 has struck a long-term deal to secure space at Maxim Park. The site is ideally sized, located just over three miles from Bellshill, and boasts excellent amenities and transport links – making it Virgin Media O2’s preferred choice.

Maxim Park will provide the company with flexible and spacious work environments to help staff get together and collaborate, as well as a range of extra on-site amenities that will give employees an improved experience when they’re in the office – for example, access to a wellness and spa centre, a gym, outdoor putting green, private nursery and numerous food and drink options.

The building has also achieved an Excellent BREEAM Sustainable Building Certification and it comes with good cycling facilities and electric car charging points, helping the business deliver its ambitious environmental goals.

Virgin Media O2 will be working closely with the landlord over the next few months to install furniture, fixtures and fittings ahead of employees moving to the site in Spring 2025.

Patricia Cobian, Virgin Media O2’s Chief Financial Officer, said: “We identified a number of potential locations in our search for a new office in Lanarkshire and have secured our preferred choice, Maxim Park, which is already a thriving business community and the modern, spacious home to a number of the UK’s biggest companies .

“Located a very short distance from our current Bellshill office, and with excellent amenities and transport links, we are confident that Maxim Park will prove to be a popular choice with our employees who will now have a flexible space to work, collaborate and socialise together on their office days.

“As a flexible employer, Maxim Park is ideally sized to support our hybrid working policies and this long-term commitment is further proof of our exciting property plans which are helping us meet the current and future needs of our business and people.”

Maxim Park will become Virgin Media O2’s second major new office space since its merger in June 2021. The company is currently preparing to move teams into a new state-of-the-art HQ in Paddington by the end of the year.
