What: Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin
When: Saturday 22 September, 6pm
Where: Sky Sports Box Office on Virgin TV
Cost: £19.95 for SD, £20.95 for HD (booking open now)
Anthony Joshua is back in action to defend his unbeaten record and all four of his current world titles against Russia’s Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium this Saturday, which is live on Virgin TV on Sky Sports Box Office.
This is the Britons’ first fight since April when he defeated Joshua Parker in Cardiff and will need to be at his best to overcome the 38 year-old Povetkin to maintain his WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts.
Joshua is the clear favourite for the contest. He has proved his longevity in recent fights, defeating Carlos Takam with a tenth-round stoppage before earning a dominant win on points over Parker.
His opponent, Povetkin, is one of the division’s toughest competitors and has only lost once in his career, that being at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko in 2013. Povetkin proved his power in his devastating knockout win over David Price in March and Joshua will need to be wary of this threat.
There is a stellar undercard on the night to compliment the main event. Price, beaten previously on Joshua’s last undercard at the hands of Povetkin, will take on another Russian in Sergey Kuzmin.
Lawrence Okolie challenges for the British cruiserweight title against Matty Askin and Luke Campbell will be out looking for revenge when he takes on Yvan Mendy who dealt him his first defeat in his professional career when they fought previously.
