  • Brits think they are most likely to win as a contestant on The Traitors, The Great British Bake Off and The Apprentice
  • To honour Brits’ love of reality TV shows and contests, Virgin TV customers can now enjoy two new FAST channels (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) including reality favourites like Hell’s Kitchen and Eggheads – enabling them to enjoy their much-loved shows 24/7 and at no extra cost
  • The channels complement the existing line up of 30 FAST channels already available across Virgin TV, including Tipping Point and Deal or No Deal

Almost a quarter of Brits (21%) believe they could win a reality TV show according to new research by Virgin Media O2, who is today announcing the launch of two new reality TV FAST channels on Virgin TV.

The poll of over 1,000 UK adults  uncovered which type of reality shows TV fanatics think they’d win, with The Traitors taking the top spot (31%) closely followed by The Great British Bake Off (30%), The Apprentice (21%), Big Brother (18%) and MasterChef (17%).

The confident television fans surveyed think that their social skills (45%) and authenticity (24%) are the attributes that would most likely guarantee them the reality crown.

The introduction of two new FAST channels, in collaboration with ITV Studios, builds on Virgin TV’s existing line up of popular shows and offers TV fans the chance to enjoy even more  top quality content at the click of a button. Virgin TV customers with a Stream, V6 or Virgin TV 360 box can immerse themselves in popular reality shows with round-the-clock episodes, all at no extra cost. The brand new FAST channels launching includes:

  1. Hell’s Kitchen: ITV Studios (Ch 233) – a 24/7 channel dedicated to the  cooking reality show and ratings juggernaut led by world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay
  2. Eggheads: ITV Studios (Ch 253) – a quiz show battle between  a team of super-brain champions and amateur quiz players

Virgin Media O2’s polling also uncovered the top reasons Brits can’t get enough of reality TV, including:

  1. 51%: Find it relaxing and helps switch off after a long day
  2. 36%: Love getting invested in contestants’ stories
  3. 35%: Like seeing people react under pressure
  4. 35%: Love discussing the show with other people
  5. 22%: Helps them keep up to date and enable them to input into social conversations

The new FAST channels can be found on Virgin TV’s  Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), and are also searchable via voice control, providing an alternative and complimentary experience to traditional linear TV.
