Stars encourage nation to take part in O2 TikTok challenge for the opportunity to win a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G

  • Brothers AJ and Curtis Pritchard appeared as holograms alongside O2’s robot, Bubl, in first ever hologram dance duets
  • The TikTok dance routine, created by O2 and featuring robot moves, was beamed across the London skyline in jaw-dropping hologram shows
  • Nation encouraged to pit their moves against some of the UK’s best, including Laurie Elle and Perri Kiely in a chance to win the latest Samsung phone
  • Bubl is the new face of O2, the UK’s number one network, bringing its customer-centricity to life through the ever-present and helpful robot

AJ and Curtis Pritchard appeared as holograms in the skies over London last night as they launched the arrival of the UK’s newest dance craze.

Putting his ballroom shoes aside, AJ and his brother Curtis took on the latest TikTok dance duet – created by O2 and performed by Bubl – before being beautifully beamed alongside Bubl in to the skies.

The hologram stunned the London skyline, with AJ and Curtis’ efforts kicking off proceedings before being followed by other TikTok superstars – including Laure Elle, Perri Kiely and Twist & Pulse.

AJ and Curtis said;

“We have all relied on tech to keep us connected the last few months and part of this has seen an explosion in people dancing, and we’ve absolutely loved seeing the results. Whist we’re known for our ballroom routines, we were immediately up for the challenge of dancing like Bubl the Robot and launching what we hope will be the next big TikTok dance craze. Being beamed up in to the sky by O2 was incredible and definitely something we will never forget!”

Each dancer was seen busting out their best moves above the iconic skyline of St Pauls and the City of London, following the dance routines of Bubl the robot.

Some of the best dances already submitted by the public were also turned in to 3D light form, setting the high standards for entrants to meet.

The dance duet competition is live on TikTok until 31st October, giving the public the opportunity to enter to be in with a chance of winning the latest Samsung phone.

The holograms were produced by company Kaleida, using its real-time hologram engine which takes user-submitted videos and embeds them in a 3D bubble. Images are then projected onto Holonet, a high-tech silver coated gauze, which when stretched out becomes almost invisible to the eye, allowing objects to appear to float in the night above the London skyline.

Nina Bibby, CMO, O2 said:

“Our TikTok dance duet is the first ever robot dance duet on the platform, and is certainly the first-time people have been able to take to the skies to take on a dance routine. We wanted to showcase the spectacular moves that have already appeared on TikTok in the biggest and most exciting way possible. And what better than in London’s jaw-dropping night sky as dance and TV stars, AJ and Curtis, as well as the world biggest dance influencers are immortalised as holograms competing for the latest Samsung phone.

“As the UK’s No.1 network we’re committed to putting customers first. Bubl is the perfect embodiment of this, and we hope by launching this TikTok competition, and beaming our entrants up into the stars in the night sky, the nation can see that we are always looking at new ways to surprise and delight our customers – going one step further to be the best network for them.”

A physical representation of the O2 brand, Bubl, takes the form of a loyal and reliable blue robot helping ensure customers have the best possible service, experiences and interactions with O2, showcasing the many ways that it makes customers feel special. Just like the network, Bubl is there whenever required, whether that’s doing everyday things that people don’t even think about needing the network for, through to doing business on the move, or streaming the latest must-see TV series.

To enter the TikTok competition, dancers simply need to go to TikTok and search #O2BublDance before clicking on Bubl’s video at the top of the challenge page and selecting “duet”.

A short 15 second dance and a post with #O2BublDance later and all entrants will be in with the chance of winning the prize draw.
