This Christmas we’re getting creative. We’ve got together with illustrator Pete Fowler for our 2012 Christmas campaign – The Giftcracker. With the input of Fowler, we will be doing our part in bringing the classic stories and festivity of the Christmas season back to the British high street this year.

Our campaign will focus around a modern interpretation of the Christmas nutcracker, in Fowler’s unique and instantly recognisable modernist style, which combines nature, music and art in a playful “weird and wonderful way”. The theme and campaign will appear online, in social media, on mobile and in-store.

Shadi Halliwell, Head of Brand at O2 says
We want our customers to have access to the best gifting ideas this Christmas”

The Giftcracker is going to provide a helping hand with getting everyone’s presents organised this year to help reduce the stress associated with Christmas shopping. The Giftcracker’s Magical Gift Selector identifies trending gifts and will make recommendations based on the age, gender and interests of the user. Basically it’s designed around you, at a time of year we end up thinking about everyone else!

Christmas isn’t all about buying presents though. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, we’ll be sharing treats and acts of Christmas kindness, like mince pies, travel updates and festive jokes and stories. The Giftcracker’s Christmas message will be reflected by our bespoke 3D in-store decorations.

Shadi Halliwell, Head of Brand at O2 says, “We want our customers to have access to the best gifting ideas this Christmas. Our Giftcracker achieves this by curating ideas which brings together the best our O2 shops have to offer as well as offering great value offers from our partners on Priority Moments. The Giftcracker combines these savings and solutions to help our customers select great presents for their friends and family. Pete Fowler’s illustration embraces Christmas whilst putting it in a modern world for everyone to share and enjoy.”

Fowler’s creativity, interest and contribution to art, illustration and music have led him to become a recognised arts personality in the UK and abroad. Previously, he has worked with brands and events like Glastonbury Festival, Kia and the Help Japan charitable campaign, as well as appearing in exhibitions in the UK and internationally.
