Innovation. It’s about finding new ways to do stuff – different ways. Ways you never thought would actually work. We love innovation. That’s why we set up the Lab. Since January 2011, our boffins in the Lab have been dead-set on coming up with new ways to do stuff. And now, you can join them.
In a competition that is itself an innovation, you can win yourself a job. What’s more, you can do it without having to run around London trying to sell ice cream to tourists, or have Sir Alan Sugar point at you and utter those fearful words. Qualifications? Don’t need them. Experience? Not important. We want what’s in your head, and that’s it.
We want you to make something do something that it’s not supposed to do, in a way that nobody else has thought to do it. We’re talking about stuff like the Raspberry Pi microwave and making a phone camera read your heart rate. Things that make you go ‘did that just happen?’
The lucky winner will get a 12-month paid internship at the Lab, with 10 runners-up each receiving free travel and entry to next year’s Campus Party Europe.
Sound like something you could do? Then get involved. All you need to do is make a blog post or video which explains your idea, and email it over to the judges at intern-competition@o2labs.co.uk before 6pm on 6 September 2013. You’ll get the chance to showcase your idea at Campus Party Europe at The O2 (we’ll even give you a discount on your tickets if you decide you want in), before we choose the winner on 16 September 2013.
Why are you still sat there? Stop waiting, get innovating!
