The heavy-weights of the UK’s mobile industry gathered last Thursday night at the Mobile News Awards, the Oscars of the Mobile world. And it was definitely O2’s night.

Ben Dowd our Business Director attended and collected a hat trick of awards, including Innovative Service for our Priority Moments App and Best Advertising Campaign for Priority Moments Local. Most importantly, we were recognised as the best Network Operator for the third year running.

The Mobile News Awards is an annual event hosted by the UK’s leading mobile industry news magazine Mobile News. It celebrates the successes of the UK’s mobile industry, with entries open to all companies who provide mobile products and services in the UK, including operators, mobile phone manufacturers, retailers and service provider.

Ben commented: “It was an incredibly proud moment for me as I collected these awards – what an amazing result and testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. We continue to drive innovation through our wide range of services and solutions – supported by our exceptional network. This wouldn’t be possible without the outstanding work delivered by everyone right across our business and proves that collaboration in the organisation is one of our key strengths.”

It was a great night for our partners too. Two of our Centre of Excellence Partners, Uplands and Carphone Warehouse Business won The Customer Service Award and Airtime Distributor respectively, and one of our top Wholesale Partners, Excell Group, walked away with Business Solutions Provider.
