Good news keeps on coming from our Wayra academy as two of our 2012 alumni, Makelight and Night Zookeeper, have each secured £150,000 in additional funding from investors Ascension Ventures to continue the growth of their businesses.

The funding will allow them to boost the capability of their apps and grow globally.

Joanna Alpe, Makelight’s CEO said, “Wayra was an incredible support in getting us across the line with Ascension…(they) worked hard to make the investment process work for us. The mentors that we encountered while in the (Wayra) acceleration process were world class and put us in the right place to pitch and secure the next funding round we needed.”

Makelight’s mobile app enables any audience to form a unique luminous display at any gig, anywhere; turning people into pixels. It’s available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8.

Nightzookeeper is a creative education app for kids, which allows parents and teachers to get involved by setting challenges via the app dashboard. Night Zookeeper recently launched their new Teleporting Torch on the app store this month.
