O2-international-extras International Extras is a brand new Bolt On for O2 customers, and if you’ve got relatives living abroad, it’s a brand new blessing too. It’s here to save you money while calling other continents. Read on, and we’ll explain just how it works.

International calls made easy

While O2’s International Favourites package lets you call landlines in 60 countries, O2’s found that when contacting friends and family in some countries people prefer to call mobile numbers.

International Extras is about letting you call loved ones without worrying about what type of line you’re dialing, and just getting on with the conversation.

How it works

Once activated, all you have to do is a ring a UK number at no charge: you then key in the number you want to call, international code included. Presto, you’re put through, and you can chat at length, mobile to mobile, on other sides of the world. Depending on where you’re calling, you could talk for more than four hours, and the Bolt On lasts for a full 30 days.

Simple set up

Getting International Extras up and running couldn’t be easier, as O2 Guru Steve explains here.

Head over to the International Extras website and you can be up and running in minutes. Just text the code for the country you want to 80282, then call 0203 505 0202 to get started.

You can use the service whether you’re on Pay & Go or Pay Monthly and regardless of what handset you use. Currently, International Extras works for seven countries (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Iraq, Ghana and Bulgaria) but O2 is looking to add more so keep an eye on the website for future updates.
