After thousands of applications and weeks of judging, the Smarta 100 together with O2 has found the 100 most innovative, disruptive and resourceful small businesses in the UK right now.
These 100 inspiring businesses show off the diversity and success of Britain’s small business community. The list has created a total of more than 900 jobs, while turning over a combined £67m.
We’re particularly proud of the 10 businesses that are taking the contest by storm, in the Mobile Business of the Year category. From TrueView, an app bringing a much needed dose of reality to internet dating, to My Sex Doctor, an all-encompassing encyclopedia that’s bringing sex education to the 21st century. This category is showing the strength of small businesses innovation in the mobile space.
In the nine other exciting categories, winners include Blaze, whose laser light projects the symbol of a bike onto the road ahead of a cyclist and into a motorist’s ‘blindspot’ and tech trailblazers Thread who are bringing top fashion stylists to the masses.

With the 100 top businesses announced, it’s time to get your votes in and decide the winners of each category. The 10 winners will receive £1,000 and make the final shortlist for the grand prize £10,000. Smarta 100, together with O2, business of the Year’ award.
The overall winner will be decided by the Smarta 100 judging panel, led by Dragons’ Den star Piers Linney, founder of Outsourcery, enterprise editor of the Mail on Sunday, Helen Loveless, and O2’s Business Director, Ben Dowd.
