Hello everybody, yesterday we started our work at the third school. It is amazing how interested these children are in learning.

At the end of an English lesson they were able to say: "Hello, my name is Jose Fernando, I'm fourteen years old, I come from El Salvador, and I live in Shucutitan. I have two sisters and one brother, their names are …. I like dogs, I do not like cats. I like blue, I do not like light green." Kevin and I were so proud of them. Next week they might have forgotten everything, because the teachers at this school are not really working hard towards increasing the abilities. It is sad, but there are few things you can do about it.

The weekend was fantastic again. We spent a quiet Saturday in the garden of our hotel and on the market of the village. At the evening we had a fiesta. On Sunday we went hiking in the volcano region, and on the afternoon we went swimming in the Pacific Ocean. I am so impressed by the beauty of this country! But still it is hard to believe that most of the children we are working with have never seen these places.

Imagine, some of them don't have scissors, others share a plate with four other children. From a European point of view it is incredible, but the children consider this to be normal. We have just three days left – time passes by so quickly over here…

Muchos besos de Juayua,
Julia
