Android Honeycomb to get tastier with Google Music
Android Honeycomb will come with Google’s iTunes-fighter Google Music built-in. The plan was spilled by Motorola’s Sanjay Jha during his presentation covering the Motorola Xoom at MWC 2011. He says: “If you look at Google Mobile services [via Android] today, there’s a video service, there’s a music service – that is, there will be a music service.” Wonder how happy Google will be that he said that but it did show off Google Music in an early form last year.
Dell to get cooler with Android Ice Cream phones?
Google was also in the news with Dell's future phones leaking. While the big G has yet to reveal concrete plans for Android Ice Cream, Dell is working on new phones to run it. The two new smartphone dubbed the Dell Hancock (like Tony?) and Dell Millennium are due to arrive at the end of this year and start of 2012. The phones will pack front-facing and rear cameras, dual-core processors for serious graphics and have the ability to capture 1080p full HD video.
HP Touchpad palmed
The HP Touchpad is on display at MWC 2011 even though it was outed at an event before the show. It's the same size as the current iPad but it's got a super-powerful processor inside and packs NFC smarts so it can easily sling info and contacts to the new HP Pre 3 too. The latest version of webOS also looks pretty sweet.
Future tech revealed: indoor GPS!
An intriguing bit of technology touted at MWC 2011 is indoor GPS. The technology called SIRF Walk is an indoor positioning service that uses your phone's accelerometer, gyroscope and other sensors to work out your position when there's no satellite to chat to. Software from Google and firms like TomTom will come packing building schematics to allow you to navigate indoors. Sounds ace to us.
HTC Incredible S: incredible smartphone for us all!
The HTC Incredible was a phone that nearly lived up to its hyperbolic name but it didn't come to the UK. The good news is that its successor, the HTC Incredible S, is heading our way. It packs a 1Ghz processor and 1GB RAM so it'll be speedy and has 8GB of onboard storage for all your songs and videos. There's an eight-megapixel camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera combined with a 4in screen and Android Froyo (set for an upgrade to Android Gingerbread very soon).
