We’re bringing customers exclusive access to Pinterest’s Android Widget, allowing them to benefit from a quick and easy way to access Pinterest from their Android device.
The offer follows a global partnership signed between Telefónica Digital and Pinterest to bring Pinterest’s social discovery app to millions of Telefónica Android customers globally.
It is available exclusively for O2 customers to download from the Google Play Store, with pre-loading on devices taking place in the coming weeks.
The Widget gives customers a quick and easy way to access to Pinterest from their home screen so they can start discovering and pinning ideas – from food and fashion to sports, entertainment, design, and more – in just one tap. It’s the most enhanced Pinterest experience for Android to date, giving instant access to most popular pins for new users, and a personal feed once the person is signed in.
David Plumb, Telefónica Digital UK Director, commented on the partnership: “This landmark deal with Pinterest is a significant step in our mission to put digital at the heart of our UK business. To be the first partner for Pinterest is a great opportunity and marks the foundation of a deeper relationship. As the service explodes in popularity, we are now in a position to bring the best possible mobile Pinterest experience to our Android customers in the UK.”
“Interests are global, which is why we want Pinterest to be available wherever people want to find ideas for the everyday projects in their lives and get inspired for the future,” said Don Faul, Head of Operations, Pinterest. “Telefónica is one of the world’s most advanced communications companies, and together we can provide a one-of-a-kind mobile experience to new and existing pinners around the globe.”
