To celebrate the legendary Prince performing live at The O2 Arena this summer, O2 will be offering its customers the opportunity to download Prince’s new single, ‘Guitar’, for free one week before its general release. The track will be available to download absolutely free from O2’s online blueroom at http://www.o2.co.uk/prince from 27th June – 3rd July 2007. Once downloaded, the track can be played on the customer’s PC or transferred to their mobile phone or digital music player. O2 customers will also have exclusive access to the new ‘Guitar’ ringtone for just £1.50. The ringtone is now available to download from O2 Active. For more information on accessing the full track, customers can simply text PRINCE to 2020. Sally Cowdry, O2 Marketing Director, said, “Prince’s 21 nights at The O2 will be one of the music highlights of the year and we are delighted that we have the opportunity to offer our customers exclusive free access to the first single from Prince’s new album, ‘Planet Earth’.” The Prince promotion will have a prime position on O2 Active where the “Guitar” ringtone will be available to buy exclusively for £1.50. Customers who want to download the full track will then be directed to the online O2 blueroom. Earlier this year, O2 customers had priority access to tickets for Prince’s 21 nights at The O2, the first 15 of which sold out in a matter of hours.
