O2 Appoints Chief Financial Officer

O2 today announced Mark Evans as the new Chief Financial Officer of Telefonica UK. Effective from today, Mark will serve on the Telefonica UK board and report to Ronan Dunne, CEO of Telefonica UK.

Mark joins Telefonica with over 15 years of senior finance experience, having held a variety of board level and management positions in t Mark Evans he communications industry. He starts his new role following 10 years at Vodafone where he held positions as CFO in the UK, Ireland, and most recently in their Global Technology business. Prior to Vodafone, Mark was Group Financial Controller at Virgin Media, formerly NTL, where he started in 1994.

Ronan Dunne, said: ‘2012 will be a hugely exciting year for Telefonica in the UK and Mark is joining at a crucial time. Through leading the finance team, his role is vital in making sure we deliver our business objectives and commitments. The role has been held by acting CFO Adam Castleton, following Ramon Ros’ move to Telefonica in Spain.
