Following a competitive tendering process both O2 Airwave and O2 UK have been awarded Catalist Framework Agreements by OGCbuying.solutions. This allows O2 Airwave and O2 UK to deliver a range of services to the public sector through a framework that has been established to meet the specific procurement needs of customers in the public sector.   O2 Airwave has been awarded accredited supplier status within the Framework Agreement Specialist Solutions demonstrating its ability to provide public sector customers with comprehensive high value solutions.  Similarly O2 UK has accredited supplier status for the Framework Agreement Mobile Solutions. This agreement was awarded in three separate parts to provide services under three categories; Voice and Messaging, Data and Total Mobile Solutions. O2 UK is the only network operator to be awarded accredited supplier status for Total Mobile Solutions.   Both Framework Agreements are marketed under the Catalist brand offering flexibility in meeting a range of requirements in the public sector. Using this framework, public sector customers can access a selection of suppliers, providing end to end solutions for a number of key business requirements. The Framework Agreements run until December 2008   By becoming accredited suppliers, O2 Airwave and O2 UK are able to deliver a range of services required to support a solution which includes pre-sales support, consultancy and advisory services, design, implementation, training and after sales support. OGCbuying.solutions Framework Agreements are EU compliant meaning that public sector customers can procure products and services from accredited suppliers. This helps to reduce the time and resources needed throughout the procurement process.   O2 Airwave has been successful in securing contracts with Police, Fire and Ambulance Trusts, however, the Airwave service reaches wider than the three major emergency service responders. The service is already in use by many national and regional Public sector agencies including Local Authorities for Emergency Planning, street warden activities, CCTV and Parking Services.   O2 UK has already signed the Scottish Criminal Record Office (SCRO) through the new Agreement. SCRO have opted to use BlackBerry™ for all of its mobile voice and email requirements and had started discussions with O2 prior to the OGC development.  The OGC Approved Supplier Status announcement reinforced the SCRO’s decision to choose O2 as a supplier.
