2019 awards open for nominations
The UK’s biggest regional media events, the O2 Media Awards, are back for 2019 to celebrate media talent across the North West and Yorkshire and the Humber.
Open to print, on-line and broadcast organisations, this year’s O2’s will also feature new categories, marking the expansion of creative industries in both regions.
The awards showcase excellence in news, sport, entertainment, social and community media. Once again the O2’s are free to enter. Award nominees also receive free tickets to attend the presentation evening.
The awards are now open for nominations in Yorkshire and the Humber and will be followed by the O2’s North West.
“The O2’s are a fusion of media talent. They support the media industry’s diversity and focus on the rapid growth of creative industries in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North West. Whether it’s writers delivering grassroots journalism or programme makers winning national acclaim, the awards highlight the impact the media has on our communities. We’re looking forward to another year of wonderful entries,” said Nicola Green, Director of Corporate Affairs at O2.
The awards are open to individuals and teams. There are categories covering a range of disciplines, from celebrating the emerging stars of the industry through to the use of the latest technologies to keep readers and viewers informed and entertained.
Deadline for entries for this year’s Yorkshire and the Humber awards is April 25, 2019. Only work published or broadcast between April 7, 2018 and April 11, 2019 is eligible.
Nominees will be announced in June. All nominees will be invited to the awards presentation in Leeds on July 4, 2019, where category winners will be crowned.
The O2 Media Awards have the support of ITV, BBC, the Press Association, leading newspaper publishers and broadcast production companies. Judges are made up of experts from the media industry and include working journalists, editors and publishers, writers, directors and producers.
Details of the O2 Media Awards for the North West of England will be announced in March.
