O2 today announces the launch of a new free service designed to help break down the perceived barriers that small businesses face when they consider purchasing solutions such as mobile email. Offering a free face-to-face consultation, O2 will be able to advise small businesses on a range of topics from setting up mobile email to using Wi-Fi while out of the office to using their mobile phone as a modem. “While small businesses can see the value in mobile data, many are put off by the perceived complexity of implementation,” said Simon Devonshire, Head of SME Marketing, O2 UK. “Through our trained experts, we aim to remove this complexity, helping businesses to see which options best suit their circumstances and making the implementation of these solutions as easy as possible.” O2 specialists can help small businesses with a wide range of email and internet related issues. These include: · Implementing ‘push email’ solutions from BlackBerry and Microsoft · Accessing files and attachments while on the move · Synchronising contacts, customer information and reports · Improving the business processes of fieldworkers · Setting up 3G datacards or using your mobile phone as a modem · Questions relating to optimising mobile applications, security and on going user support Qualitative research conducted by O2 amongst small businesses found that the benefit of mobilising technology such as email and the internet is commonly understood. The main issue is what to implement and how best to implement it. Many respondents felt it was difficult to know what would best suit their business and feared implementing the wrong system. This campaign highlights O2’s drive to make it easy for small businesses to set-up and get the most out of the latest mobile technology, and thereby improve their efficiency.
