O2 today announced the launch of Your Show, a new service which brings audio capability to LookAtMe!, O2’s highly popular user-generated video download service. From today, O2 customers can now submit original music content, whether it be an audio track or a video of the band, for viewing by other users. Since the launch of LookAtMe! in June 2006, O2 customers have been downloading over 45,000 clips in one day. Customers who upload content to LookAtMe! receive a fee each time the clip is viewed. Some have earned nearly £500 for their content. Now, with Your Show, customers can upload original music content, including ringtones, for other customers to download. Russ Shaw, Director of Capability and Innovation at O2 UK, comments: “We’re very pleased with the success of LookAtMe! which is, if you like, part video store, part mobile reality TV. Our customers love it. Your Show is the logical next step for the home of music: it’s a chance for everyone to get creative and begin selling videos and tracks and make money out of it”. Customers submit content, sending it in a media message to 32323 (media messages cost customers standard rates to send). All clips submitted undergo a rigorous human moderation process, which ensures that the clips hosted on the site are of excellent quality in terms of audio as well as content. Contributors can view how many clips have been downloaded from their phone. As with LookAtMe, Your Show users can download clips for just 35p, with 3p going back to the creator of the track. On every Monday in March, customers can download free tracks as part of the O2 Long Weekend promotion. Your Show will offer categories in the same way asLookAtMe. They include ‘Ringtone Rhapsody’, ‘Hairbrush Hits’ and ‘100% RealTalent’, which will allow undiscovered bands to upload their latest tracks. Both Your Show and LookAtMe! are provided by Yospace.
