At O2 Learn, helping to connect everyone to great teaching, by creating Britain’s biggest classroom is our goal. With that in mind, we’re thrilled with the guest on one of our newest O2 Learn videos – someone who knows all about goals – French Arsenal star Bacary Sagna.
[library asset=2723]Bacary joins a 5-a-side team – comprising of the Year 10 students of Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree, Herts – who came up with the idea for the video lesson. He answers questions posed in French by his new teammates, revealing who his best friend on the team is, and who he thinks is the funniest player in the Arsenal Dressing room. Once he’s answered a few, it becomes a game of two halves when Bacary volleys in a few questions of his own for the boys – and viewers – to answer.
The lesson focuses on spoken French – a crucial part of GCSE French (it accounts for 30% of the final grade) – and tackles some of the questions which students often struggle to get to grips with. Haberdashers’ French teacher Peter Thackrey, who helped to create the video, told us how positive role models like Bacary can really help to generate an interest in French, particularly with boys.
Uploaded in two versions – one with English subtitles and one with French – this is just one of 1200 video lessons available for free from O2 Learn. You can see more by heading over to http://o2learn.co.uk.
