O2 announces new ‘Business Specialist’ offering and appoints Head of SME Marketing to spearhead small business proposition O2 today announces the launch of its innovative ‘Business Specialist’ proposition designed to benefit small and medium-sized businesses in the UK. SME customers will now have personalised access to O2 Business Specialists by phone and in local O2 retail stores, for assistance and advice on leveraging the most value from their mobile phone contracts. This offering comes close on the heels of the recently announced SME Starter Pack tariff devised to help new businesses get started without having to worry about the initial mobile phone costs. O2 has the largest market share in the SME sector in the UK. From help setting up voicemail to advice on implementing the latest mobile email solutions, the O2 Business Specialists will be on hand to help small businesses maximise the benefits they receive from their mobile devices, while at the same time allowing them to focus on running their businesses. The service is now available for O2 small business customers and its launch will be backed by a £2m advertising campaign. To further strengthen its SME proposition, O2 also announces the appointment of Simon Devonshire as Head of SME Marketing. He joins O2 from Ntl: Telewest Business, the B2B division of cable company Ntl:Telewest, where he held the position of Brand Development Manager. Devonshire led the re-branding of Ntl:Telewest Business, as a Virgin company, post Ntl:Telewest’s acquisition. As Head of SME Marketing at O2, Devonshire will lead and drive the SME division in developing campaigns such as Business Specialists, demonstrating the company’s commitment to meeting the needs of its SME customers. Devonshire comments: “Although the needs of SMEs are distinctly different from larger organisations, we know that they want to be treated just the same. We also know that they do not have the time or resources to spend getting the best mobile solutions in place.
