If you follow us on Twitter or Facebook, you may have spotted our new project – O2 Stories, which launched very recently. Developed alongside social media consultancy NixonMcInnes, O2 Stories asks you to help co-create a dark, gripping thriller, the ‘Shadow’ story, and a brighter, more optimistic counterpart, the ‘Sunlight’ story.

The text is being written by award-winning digital fiction company, Failbetter Games. But each chapter is inspired by photographs tweeted by you, the audience, with the #o2shadows or #o2sunlight campaign hashtags. A selection of the best entries are also being showcased on Flickr (see #o2sunlight entries and #o2shadows entries).

O2 Stories launched on 30th March and is running for four weeks, with 12 chapters planned, so there’s plenty of time left to get involved. And if your photo is chosen as inspiration for one of the chapters, you’ll receive a published book of the story at the end.

The O2 Stories campaign is about emotions and creativity and storytelling – the fun stuff in life. Recognising that conversations around photos are a big part of what makes social networks tick, we’re hoping that O2 Stories will complement this behaviour and reward people for their participation and creativity.
