Columbian superstar Shakira shakes her way on to the O2 Tracks Centre Stage this week with her hotly-anticipated, self-titled album. We had a listen and picked out our highlights:

Comeback single Can’t Remember to Forget You featuring new Roc-Nation label-mate and BFF Rihanna sets the tone for the album. The ladies provide a dizzyingly delightful vocal combo alongside a rip-roaring reggae-rock beat that will make sure you don’t forget this one anytime soon. Over 200 million YouTube views tells you the music video ain’t half bad either.

The she-wolf star shows her more vulnerable side with second single Empire, which got released at the end of February. This is Shakira as you’ve never heard her before. Stripped down tender verses coupled with an anthemic chorus that packs an emotional punch. Stirring and special. Our pick of the album.

Shakira goes all country with Medicine, a song inspired by her time in Nashville. The Grammy winning artist teams up with fellow coach from ‘The Voice’ Blake Shelton who knows a thing or two about creating a country classic. We prescribe two teaspoons every four hours.

After a four year hiatus, Shakira roars back with her tenth album which showcases a new direction musically and lyrically, representative of her new state of mind as a mum.  We love it. Give it a listen on O2 Tracks and let us know what you think by commenting below.
