We’re raising a glass to the launch of our free wifi service in Fuller’s pubs. People across the UK will now be able to access our O2 Wifi hotspots in 389 pubs across the UK. As a result, Fuller’s customers will be able to stream videos, update their Facebook status or check the latest news instead of flipping beer mats while waiting for their mate to get the next round in.

Through this partnership, Fuller’s customers will be able to access fast, free, reliable wifi from any device at no cost, whether they’re an O2 mobile customer or not. Once users have signed up through the simple process, they will automatically be connected to our wifi whenever they enter a Fuller’s pub, or any of O2 Wifi’s thousands of UK hotspots.

Gavin Franks, MD of O2 Wifi said: “We are really excited to be rolling out our wifi across the entire Fuller’s estate. Pubs are the social hubs of communities and this partnership will enable people to connect to the internet and each other, in pubs across the UK. To date, people have gathered around the pub’s communal screen to be entertained and informed. More and more, that role is being filled by the screen in our hand or on our table. Our wifi connectivity is fast and reliable so people will be able to use their small screen to get the information they want. We are proud to add the name of Fuller’s to the other premium announcements this year including Costa Coffee, McDonalds and Debenhams. This means that we will be deploying thousands of new hotspots in 2012.”

Fuller’s Tenanted Operations Director Mike Clist agreed. “We are delighted to be partnering with O2 to provide wifi in all of our pubs. Wifi, and free wifi in particular, has become another service that pubs are increasingly expected to offer, but for many tenants it was seen as just another cost that was difficult to justify. It’s great that O2 is providing this important service, giving them another tool with which to encourage people to visit their pub, and to stay a while too.”

To celebrate the launch of O2 Wifi in Fuller’s pubs, we’ll also be running an O2 Wifi Twitter Pub Quiz. To be in with a chance of winning tickets to a gig at the O2 Academy, check out the questions here  and Tweet answers to the ten questions using the hashtag #O2WifiPubQuiz. The competition will be open until 11 October 2012, winners will be chosen at random so enter now to be in with a chance.
