We’ve picked our favourite songs from Paloma Faith’s third studio album, A Perfect Contradiction, which takes Centre Stage on O2 Tracks this week.
Having already reached the top 10 in the UK chart, lead single, Can’t Rely on You is the perfect opener with the help of Faith’s new BFF Pharrell Williams, who laid down the R&B funk influenced beat and backing vocals to this track.
And who doesn’t love a good cowbell, right?
The Hackney born singer-songwriter shows she’s at the top of her vocal game with The Bigger You Love (The Harder You Fall) bringing together a perfect blend of her delightful quirkiness and new found intensity. Album highlight Only Love Can Hurt Like This, co-written by the legendary Diane Warren, shows off her phenomenal range and tone which will undoubtedly draw comparisons to Amy Winehouse. Watch her dazzling performance at Burberry’s recent fashion show. It’ll give you the best type of chills.
Paloma’s kooky coolness is one of many reasons why we love her and it shines through in the brilliant Taste My Own Tears. The catchy retro soul sounding track and loveable lyrics will transport you back in time in a heartbeat.
A Perfect Contradiction shows Paloma’s sick of being lovesick, and she’s ready to party her problems away. Are you ready to dance?
