Smart working means making the best use of technology to be more productive. It’s about making work easier and more enjoyable. Giving people the ability to perform tasks in the best way, at the best time. And giving them a sense of freedom and self-reliance that will change their approach to work.
For example, one of my colleagues regularly meets clients in restaurants and coffee shops. She uses her tablet and free public wifi to access the files and presentations she needs while she waits. An app gives her access to the CRM system, so she can update information immediately after a meeting.
And, with the launch of 4G from O2 this summer, the possibilities are endless.
To give you a taste of what’s possible, we’ve put together a video that shows how smarter working can be applied across many scenarios – an engineer working on-site, a financial controller who can’t get to the office and so on. It gives a brief overview of the technologies involved, too.
