Sony-ericsson-xperia-mini-pro The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is supremely powerful, amazingly small, and much more than just a tiny telephone: it’s a jack of all trades, master of all trades, and yet still slimmer than its dedicated rivals.

Read on to find out how the 1GHz pico phone puts everything from satnavs to camcorders to shame.

It’s two thirds the size of a satnav

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro measures just 92mm across, compared to the expansive 135mm wide TomTom XXL IQ Routes edition satnav, but it’s just as capable of getting you where you want to go. Fire up Google Maps Navigation, and with the Xperia Mini Pro’s GPS powers, you can get turn by turn directions to anywhere in the world free of charge!

It’s forty percent lighter than a Nintendo 3DS

And that’s before you even put the game cartridge in. And yet, the 136g Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro allows you to select and play thousands of games from the Android Market, including world famous titles like Angry Birds and Cut The Rope, and even titles you’ll find on Nintendo’s handheld, like EA’s FIFA. That keyboard is perfectly designed for high octane racing titles or shooters as well.

It’s forty percent thinner than a Flip camcorder

Compared to a 30mm deep Flip UltraHD pocket camcorder, the 18mm thick Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro looks positively skinny, and won’t bulge your pocket. But it goes toe to toe with the Flip when it comes to quality: both can smooth 720p HD video for hours, while the Xperia Mini Pro also packs a 5 megapixel camera for quality stills. And when you consider that much of the Mini Pro’s girth comes simply from the slide-out keyboard, it’s even more remarkable.

It’s smaller than a BlackBerry

OK, so you won’t find BlackBerry Messenger tucked inside the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro, but it’s much smaller than RIM’s famous e-mail phones. The top of the line BlackBerry Bold 9780 goes head to head with its own QWERTY keyboard, but if size is an issue, we know which one we’d pick, especially when business folk can still get Exchange email on the Mini Pro too, thanks to ActiveSync support.

It’s less than half the length of an Amazon Kindle

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro’s longest side measures just 92mm, compared to the Amazon Kindle 3G’s lengthy 190mm. And yet, it can access just as many books: the Kindle Android app even lets you sync your bookmarked place between the devices. Plus, you can open all sorts of other documents too with the pre-loaded office app.
