Last week we kicked off our Talking Points campaign in London. It’s where we get into conversations with passers-by throughout the day, filming their responses to questions about shopping, travelling and local services.

We received some great comments, like: “I prefer online because I do like to shop… online kind of cuts that down for me… and I’m not spending as much.” – Sarah, on our King’s Cross Talking Point, 29 January, 2013.

And: “I think we should pay for what we use. I’m happy to pay for my bins to be collected, but I’m not happy to pay for street lights or road markings because I don’t have any where I live…” – Paul,  on our Talking Point outside the British Library, 29 January 2013.

Amanda and Helen on our Talking Point outside King’s Cross train station said: “TfL has the tube map on the phone so it’s really easy… but you haven’t necessarily got the same thing… where you can type in locations to get a bus route….”

It’s not too late if you want to get involved because we’re doing it again this week:

  • Tuesday 5 February at London’s Bluewater shopping centre.
  • Wednesday 6 February, where we’ll be at Birmingham’s New Street until lunchtime, and then the Bull Ring in the afternoon.

Whether you’re a retailer, local authority or transport provider, these honest opinions from real people provide the inspiration to make radical, effective changes to the way you serve your customers, passengers or citizens.
