Telefonica UK today announced it has appointed Nick Lynch as head of strategy, effective June 2011.
Nick will be responsible for shaping the long term strategic direction of Telefonica’s UK business. He currently reports to Tim Sefton, New Business Development Director but will report to the Finance Director in due course.
Nick joined the Telefonica Strategy team in 2008 and, as Senior Strategy Manager, played a key role in a number of O2’s key strategic initiatives.
Before joining Telefonica, Nick spent six years as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company and Deloitte Consulting. Before that, he spent three years in bond sales and trading within investment banks, including UBS. He attended Business School in Berkeley, California.
Tim Sefton said: ‘I’m particularly pleased that we’ve been able to promote internally to fill this role, underlining the strength in depth in our team. Nick will play a key role in shaping our success as we consolidate our success in communications and move into new areas in the future.’
