Hola a todos!

Just finished our first day at school and its been unreal. We gave a presentation on our countries in Spanish and it was great not to see confused faces on the children. Before lunch we had a game of 5 a side soccer with 10 players on each team. I´ll be patching up my feet this evening after that. At lunchtime, the kids who attend in the morning go home and then new kids come in for the afternoon.

After lunch, I worked with a group of six 15 -17 year olds and thought them basic english (days of the week, food and greetings) followed by a test.

In the afternoon, one of the co-ordinators brought 4 of us and 3 of the children for a walk in the mountains (1300m above sea level). The views of the volcanoes and the forests were unbelievable. We met so many locals whose children attend the school and I´ve never met such friendly people. So welcoming. They are so poor but kept offering us fruit and were so thankful. Smiles and greetings everywhere we went.

Tomorrow we will work with some of the older kids on some of the computers which they have just received. I´m off now to enjoy another cold shower and some pizza.

Hasta Luego,
Terry
