The web elves working behind the scenes at the O2 blog have been incredibly busy lately. They’ve tweaked, designed and optimised, and now the O2 blog is available in a new phone-friendly form! Read on, and see what’s new.
Fire up your phone and head to blog.o2.co.uk. If you want a sneak peek at how the mobile site looks while sitting at your desktop PC, point your browser at http://mob.o2.co.uk/o2/blog and you’ll see a mobile version of the site that’s perfect for your phone.
All the latest stories are presented with at-a-glance headlines and introductions, and you can scroll through these quickly by date. Large, easily-proddable text makes navigation made much easier for those with touchscreen phones, as well as mobiles with smaller displays.
Large icons at the top of the blog let you quickly jump to the O2 Shop, My O2 and Support too, and when you tap them you’ll see each site loads perfectly on your phone, thanks to similar web wizardry by our team.
Images on the mobile O2 Blog are resized to fit your phone’s screen too, and they’ll use up less data as you browse via 3G. That means pages load quickly, and get you to what you need to know in an instant.
Should you need to load the full desktop version for any reason, you can simply tap the link at the bottom of the mobile page.
You can set the mobile O2 Blog as a bookmark on any phone’s browser, but on recent Android, Windows Phone 7 and iPhone smartphones, you can make it even easier to access by pinning the page as an icon on your homescreen..
Of course, the O2 Blog isn’t the only section of our website that’s phone friendly. O2 recently flicked the switch on mobile versions of O2 Recycle and O2 Store Locator.
The former can help you earn money by selling your old phone while sitting on the bus, while the latter can even use your phone’s location sensing abilities to work out where your nearest branch is – you don’t even have to tap in a postcode!
