Following the huge success of the O2 Wireless Festival 2006, the festival with style is back for 2007. On June 15th,16th and 17th, the festival will be heading back to Harewood House for 3 days of sensational live music, including exclusive headline performances from The White Stripes, Daft Punk and Kaiser Chiefs, as the five loveable lads from Leeds return to home turf for the biggest homecoming gig of their career, we predict a riot indeed! Joining them will be Queens of the Stone Age, CSS, Just Jack, Badly Drawn Boy, Rakes, Editors, The Cribs and The Twang to name a few! Now in its second year the O2 Wireless Festival Leeds has firmly stamped its mark on the festival map. The Festival coming to Harewood House this summer will also return to London’s Hyde Park for 2007, bringing the event back to two of the UK’s most cosmopolitan cities. This year, for the first time, it will be happy campers all round as the O2 Wireless Festival 2007 will allow camping in the grounds of the spectacular Harewood House. For £25 festival goers can pitch up and camp for one day or for the whole weekend, so take advantage and rock solidly for all three days. First up this year The White Stripes will play their only UK show this summer as they bring some American rock to Leeds on June 15th. The Grammy Award winning Detroit duo will showcase tracks from ‘Icky Thump’, their album out in June, kicking things off in true rock ‘n’ roll style. Joining them from the US will be the legendary Queens Of The Stone Age, this will also be the fellow hard-rockers only show in the UK, and with an album also out in June Harewood House is set to be rocked to its foundations this summer. Next up are local lads the Kaiser Chiefs! Undoubtedly one of the biggest success stories of 2006 they’re back, bigger and better for 2007. The Leeds lads will head home and play the O2 Wireless Festival 2007 on June 16th which will be the only opportunity for locals to see them this summer. With a number one single and album recently under their belts they will have the crowds dancing with delight as the highly acclaimed Leeds rockers return home. Nick Hodgson from the Kaiser Chiefs says: “When we heard that Wireless was going to be in Leeds as well as London Hyde Park we were well up for it, and they’re letting us pick the bill for the day we’re headlining. It’s going to be massive and it’ll be our biggest headline shows to date. We’re going to start saving up for the lasers now” Hand picked by the Kaiser Chiefs, it will be ‘All Sparks’ as Birmingham boys the Editors showcase songs from their new album out in May. Joining them will be will be The Cribs, the Wakefield siblings are currently working on their third album and are delighted to be joining their buddies the Chiefs at the O2 Wireless Festival 2007. Next up the Rakes, nearing the release of their 2nd album ‘Ten New Messages’ and with the recent announcement of their biggest UK tour 2007 is set to be their year! The Twang will complete the line-up on the Friday, having recently picked up the ‘Philip Hall Radar Award’ at the ShockWaves NME Awards they are sure to keep crowds ‘Wide Awake’ with their single out March 19th. Last but by no means least the sensational Daft Punk will take to the main stage on June 17th. As one of the most successful electronic music collaborations of all time, the mysterious French duo are renowned for their phenomenal performances and ever-changing costumes, so prepare to party as they bring their funky sound to Harewood House for their only English performance this year.
