wayraWeek 2014 takes place between 15 – 17 January and we’re on a mission to find the UK’s best digital start-ups and help support the rapid growth of their businesses.
Wayra, which is owned by O2’s parent company Telefónica, has used its wayraWeeks in each of the past two years to select up to 20 start-ups at a time. It has then helped accelerate those digital start-ups, which are amongst the UK tech scene’s hottest, in our London Wayra Academy. Once selected they get financial support and mentoring from the folks at O2 as well as a far wider audience of mentors and advisors.
Find out more about Wayra here.
We’ve chosen the Village Underground, 54 Holywell Lane in Shoreditch, London as this year’s wayraWeek venue as its right at the heart of the UK start-up community. It’s ideally situated to reiterate Wayra’s commitment to the UK’s start-up ecosystem, from which its talent predominantly comes.
30 shortlisted start-ups will compete over the three days to win one of the final 17 spaces in London’s Wayra Academy. You can read a bit about them at the bottom of this blog. We’ll announce the winners on Friday 17th January from 15:30 onwards. Wayra will also hosting Silicon Drinkabout in the Academy in Fitzrovia straight after the announcement to celebrate both their current start-up cohort and the newly announced winners that will replace them in February.
