Gavin Sheldon, Head of Networks for O2 UK, celebrates being awarded ‘Best Network’ by the readers of both Mobile Choice and What Mobile in their respective 2010 Awards.
Last Thursday night it was announced that we have won the ‘Best Network Award’ for a third consecutive year, as voted for by the readers of Mobile Choice. We were saluted for our consistent service, range of phones, the introduction of Home Phone and our recent move to eco-rate handsets to meet our ambitious sustainability ambitions.
Then last night we also lifted the trophy for ‘Best Network’ thanks to the readers of What Mobile, who gave us an average rating of 3.95/5 for our service.
In an industry where customers are constantly being bombarded with messages of ‘best’, ‘biggest’ and ‘boldest’, these reader results are the ones that matter. As a business we are ruthless in testing measuring and delivering what is actually important for our customers. We listen to what customers say is important and focus our efforts on delivering it. For example, we gather stories on how we speak to you in store and, in my own team, we measure the speed it takes for you to download a music track on our network.
By focussing on how quickly Katy Perry gets to your phone, instead of worrying about building the most mast sites, we are developing our network and making it faster, which is one reason we came to win these awards. This recognition from Mobile Choice and What Mobile readers is proof that the continuous improvement is paying off. Thank you for voting for us. We won’t be resting on our laurels.
