4 April 2023, London: New research released today reveals that over half of Brits (61%) feel that they are ‘stuck in a rut’, with over half (59%) in need of a change in their lives.
The research, commissioned by Virgin Media O2, also reveals that the top three things Brits would like to change is their fitness (42%), closely followed by their social life (35%) and their house (32%).
Other areas of life Brits would like to change include their career (30%), car (22%), and mobile phone (17%).
Despite Brits admitting to feeling stuck and wanting a change in their life, over half (52%) are held back by the amount of money they think it will cost to make a change and just over a third (35%) are concerned about the amount the effort it would take.
Whilst making changes feels overwhelming for many Brits, Virgin Media O2 is making one change easy with its Switch Up offering from O2, which allows customers to switch their mobile device for a new one whenever it suits them.
A Virgin Media O2 spokesperson, said: “We understand it’s not always easy to switch up the big things in life, which is why we’re making it easier for our customers to get their hands on a new phone whenever it suits them, giving them the freedom and control to decide what they want, when they want it.
“No matter how big or small the change, switching to something new helps to keep things fresh, and with our Switch Up offering, our customers can get that extra excitement of a new phone with the peace of mind that their old phone won’t go to waste.”
Boredom was found to be a significant reason why people want a change in their lives, with people claiming to most likely be bored of their diet (27 per cent), their home décor (22%) and the area they live in (20%).
For those wanting to take advantage of O2 Switch Up and get a new mobile device, it’s
automatically included in O2 Plus Plans at no extra cost or can be added O2 Custom Plans for an additional £3.99 per month. The phone being swapped will be checked to ensure it meets the required condition criteria and a new handset and Plus Plan or Custom Plan will be activated to complete the switch, with no need for customers to pay off the remainder of their previous plan. The handset that is traded in will be refurbished and resold as a ‘Like New’ device for somebody else to enjoy, helping to avoid e-waste and increase O2’s ‘Like New’ offering.
Customers can head to any O2 store to switch their current phone for a new one and can find their nearest store by heading to https://www.o2.co.uk/storelocator.
