A Better Way
to do Business

At the core of our Better Connections plan is a commitment to making sure our business operates in a sustainable and ethical way – where all our people can play a part. We’re implementing comprehensive measures to underscore our role as a leading employer and a great place to work. We’ve launched a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, All In, to increase representation and equity across the business, with four ambitions we’ll achieve by 2027.

Our ambitions

  • Equal representation of women and men in the company’s wider leadership team
  • To have driven forward progress for gender parity, including all gender identities and expressions across the organisation
  • 15% of Virgin Media O2’s wider leadership team will be from Global Majority groups¹
  • 25% of Virgin Media O2’s wider organisation will be from Global Majority groups

To achieve our ambitions, and to remove bias and barriers, we’ve introduced more equitable, family-friendly policies that offer the right support and flexibility to all our people, so they have everything they need to be their best selves both at work and in their personal lives.

Further ambitions

ESG skills development

We want to make sure all our people have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver profitable sustainability.  We’re establishing individual ESG responsibilities within our employees’ roles and link to our reward and recognition programmes.  We also offer ESG training for all employees and dedicated ESG skills education for our leadership team.

Sustainable supply chain

We’re making sure all our major purchases commit contractually to defined sustainability requirements and aligned carbon-reduction goals.

Sustainable financing

To drive our innovation, we will secure sustainable investment with 100% of our financing being sourced from sustainable finance instruments.

Sustainable products and services

We’ll continue to offer products and services that help people live easier and more sustainable lives.  We will improve the sustainability performance of every new customer product as we adopt sustainable-by-design principles.

Operating responsibly

Our code of conduct policy helps to guide and inform our behaviour and decision-making at all levels of our business. We’re focused on building an ethical culture where all our people understand and are trained to take responsibility for maintaining professionalism and integrity in their day-to-day work.

We manage our business according to the highest standards of corporate governance. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations while also adhering to our own internal policies. We establish appropriate controls to evaluate and manage the risks to our business and encourage any concerns about conduct to be promptly reported via our whistleblowing channels.

We commit to treating our customers fairly, providing clear and transparent information about the products and services we offer, including associated fees and charges. We make it easy for our customers to communicate with us through multiple channels. If our customers tell us they are dissatisfied, we act swiftly and diligently to resolve any issues.

Customers put their trust in us to protect that data. The same applies for all our people. We use all information in a responsible way and protect personal data on our systems, ensuring it is kept private and safe, and is treated in a way that is compliant with laws and regulations.

We’re committed to being recognised as one of the most ethical companies by 2025.

¹ Global Majority is a collective term that speaks to and encourages those so-called to think of themselves as belonging to the global majority.
