Virgin Media has been named the UK’s top broadband provider in the newly released Opensignal 2025 Fixed Broadband Experience report, taking first place across every national category measured, including download speed, upload speed, consistent quality, video experience and reliability.
Based on real‑world connectivity data gathered from users between 3 July and 29 September 2025, the independent Opensignal study provides a detailed picture of broadband performance across the UK.
The study found that Virgin Media’s upgraded cable-to-fibre network continues to deliver the strongest overall broadband experience nationwide, recording an average download speed of 187.7Mbps and a market-leading Reliability Experience score of 747 points, placing it significantly ahead of major competitors including BT (inc. EE), Sky Broadband, TalkTalk, Three UK and Vodafone.
Julie Agnew, Managing Director, Fixed Wholesale & Customer Delivery, Virgin Media O2, said: “With demand greater than ever, we’re investing millions of pounds every single day to ensure we’re giving our customers the fast and reliable connectivity they increasingly rely on, and it’s testament to that investment that we’ve been ranked the best broadband network by Opensignal for the second year running.
“Coming top of every category is particularly pleasing, and shows that regardless of what matters most to broadband users – whether it’s reliability, consistency, or download and upload speeds – our customers are benefitting from the best overall experience.”
