UltimateFlex customers automatically benefit from price reduction

Virgin Media O2 Business is continuing to adjust its standard fixed wholesale tariff rate and reduce prices across its Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) bandwidths and National Ethernet wholesale services.

For DIA services, Virgin Media O2 Business is reducing its fixed wholesale prices by as much as 2.8% per annum across both fully-managed (including Network Termination Unit (NTU) and router), and partially-managed (NTU only) across 100Mb, 1Gb and 10Gb bearers.

As part of Virgin Media O2 Business’ commitment to offering wholesale partners competitive rates, these price adjustments have also been extended across its high bandwidth National Ethernet services. The company confirmed it would be making reductions to all National Ethernet bandwidths delivered on a 10Gb bearer (1Gbps – 10Gbps).

The price reductions will be applied to Virgin Media O2 Business’ fixed wholesale rate card on 26th April.

This is the second time this year that Virgin Media O2 Business has reduced its standard fixed wholesale tariff rates. In January, the business reduced its National Ethernet pricing on key bandwidths on a 1Gb bearer by as much as 3%.

The new pricing will be available for new orders as well as being automatically applied to existing services on Virgin Media O2 Business’ UltimateFlex contracts. Wholesale partners with qualifying installed services will see immediate savings on their next bill.

Launched in June of last year, UltimateFlex is an innovative contracting model for fixed wholesale services that offers partners complete bandwidth flexibility and anytime cancellation as standard for ethernet, internet access and optical high-capacity services.

As part of UltimateFlex, recurring prices for installed services are automatically adjusted to match the company’s new business rates. This means that every time the standard tariff pricing drops, installed UltimateFlex services reflect the same price changes  so partners can be sure they are consistently paying the going market rates without ever having to renew.

Diego Tedesco, Wholesale Fixed Director at Virgin Media O2 Business, said: “Since launching our UltimateFlex model in June last year, we have reduced prices for thousands of contracts. For those partners, their margins grew overnight. Now, we’re extending price reductions across more bandwidths – for new and existing UltimateFlex customers – helping all our fixed wholesale partners stimulate the market and drive business. It’s all about offering more flexibility and value when businesses need it most.”
