Virgin Media O2’s Chief Financial Officer, Patricia Cobian, has decided to step down from her role to join BT as Group CFO.

Lutz Schüler, CEO of Virgin Media O2 said: “After almost 20 years at Telefónica, O2 and Virgin Media O2 it’s sad to see Patricia leave, but we wish her the best. Patricia has played a pivotal role in our journey so far – her integrity, strategic insight and deep commitment to our people and business has shaped who we are today. Patricia has been a trusted partner and friend and I wish her nothing but success in the future.”

Patricia will step away from Virgin Media O2 with immediate effect and begin a 12-month “gardening leave”. A recruitment process will begin imminently.

Mark Hardman, Director of Finance Operations, and Nick Taylor, Director of Capital Allocation, will act as joint interim CFOs during this period. They both bring deep knowledge of Virgin Media O2 and the sector and will provide strong continuity while a permanent CFO is recruited.
