Today, Virgin Media TV launches Premier Sports Rugby, the UK’s first dedicated 24/7 rugby channel, offering customers access to the most comprehensive club rugby coverage available across the UK.
Virgin TV customers currently subscribed to Premier Sports will be able to enjoy the new channel at no extra cost.
For those who don’t currently subscribe but don’t want to miss out on any of the action, they can add Premier Sports to their line up for £15.99 per month to access all Premier Sports channels by heading to the Virgin TV Apps area on their TV 360, V6 or Stream box, launching the Subscriptions app and following the on-screen instructions.
The brand-new 24/7 rugby channel, which can be found on channel 553, provides customers with access to the Investec Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, the United Rugby Championship and some of the biggest games from the TOP14.
The channel will also broadcast two live games from every round from the star-studded topflight Japanese Rugby League One competition and the best games from the Major League Rugby competition in the United States.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, commented: “The expansion of our Premier Sports offering to include the brand-new 24/7 rugby channel, demonstrates our commitment to further enhancing our sports offering and providing something for all of our customers to enjoy – from football and rugby to hockey and motorsport, we’ve got sports fans covered.”
Aside from the new rugby channel, Premier Sports also offers customers an abundance of football action from the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup (Premier Sports Cup), LALIGA, United Rugby Championship and TOP14, Ice Hockey, Coppa Italia, Copa del Rey and more.
The introduction of the Premier Sports Rugby channel follows the release of 32 FAST channels on Virgin TV throughout the last year, which combine traditional TV viewing with streaming, with pre-programmed ad breaks in between set schedules so customers always know what to expect when they tune in.
