Ultrafast broadband boost for Dronfield residents – now 13 times faster than the local average

Virgin Media’s ultrafast broadband speeds are 13 times faster than the local average*. Dronfield will benefit from fibre to the premises (FTTP) technology which allows for smooth, reliable connectivity in the home. With a 516Mbps connection, files, films and games become very quick to stream, download and upload:

  • Download a standard HD movie file (5GB) in less than a minute and a half, compared to more than 18 minutes on the average local connection;
  • Download a 25GB console game in seven minutes, compared to nearly 90 minutes on the average local connection**

Hugh Woolford, Regional Director for the East Midlands at Virgin Media, said: “We are committed to bringing ultrafast broadband to more and more customers throughout the country and are pleased that 6,900 additional homes in Dronfield can now access speeds of 516Mbps. This boost makes it easier for residents to work, stream, shop, learn and much more, all online, giving them more time to spend on the things that really matter to them.”
