Weve today announces an important senior management change, following its recent purchase by O2. Nigel Clarkson will be taking on the role of Managing Director for Weve, with immediate effect, reporting into Robert Franks, Managing Director of O2 Commerce.

Clarkson, who previously ran the Commercial, Marketing and AdOps functions for the Digital Sales team, will now oversee the entire business including its strategic direction, commercial and publisher partnerships and moves into programmatic trading.   One of his initial priorities will be to lead a restructure of the business as Weve looks to benefit from operational synergies as part of O2, benefiting from direct access to O2’s significant product, technology and commercial resources.

Weve has been a rewarding and challenging experience for all who shared the last three years together.  We started from scratch and have succeeded in building one of the UK’s leading digital media businesses, covering areas as diverse as mobile marketing, advertising, data, payments, loyalty, and trialing beacon technology.  While the original blueprint for Weve has now changed, the vision of all the things that could and should be possible through mobile advertising will be accelerated by this deal.”
