O2 is proud to announce its sponsorship of the ‘Best Act In The World Today’ category at the Q Music Awards 2006, taking place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 30th October 2006, which includes an exclusive content deal for O2 customers. The acts battling it out for the coveted title in 2006 are Muse, Coldplay, Oasis, U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers As well as celebrating the world’s top music acts, the sponsorship will provide O2 customers with exclusive content through a dedicated Q Awards portal on O2 Active, giving greater access to all areas of the Awards for the very first time in the ceremony’s 17 year history. In addition to taking O2 customers behind the scenes at the star-studded affair where legendary faces from the international music industry will converge, the portal will give music fans the background story of the Q Awards as well as a number of great competitions to win money-can’t-buy tickets to the event itself and exclusive signed merchandise. Immediately after the Awards O2 will offer fans the chance to get closer to their music heroes, with customers able to download exclusive ‘made for mobile’ behind closed doors footage of the awards. In addition customers will be able to download video clips that capture the night’s winners from each category in the Awards and a selection of video clips for the runners up, all of which will all be edited by Q Magazine to provide expert musical comment. O2 customers can access all this exclusive content through its entertainment portal O2 Active or at www.o2.co.uk/blueroom. 2006 also marks the 20th anniversary of Q Magazine and to mark the occasion, cult imagery from the magazine’s extensive back catalogue will also be available to download on O2 for the first time.
