The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is no mere touchscreen phone. It’s a blower with sonic smarts built in to rival a world class DJ – or at least a karaoke machine. Read on, and we’ll show you all the audio tricks up its silicon sleeves.
It can recognise songs
Can’t quite put a name to that song in the background? With TrackID on the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman, you can simply record a short snippet of it, and watch in awe as it serves up the name and artist for you in seconds.
It can predict what you feel like listening to
Stringing together a playlist to suit your mood is easy enough, but depending on your mood, you may not feel like making one! The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman steps in to save the day, with its smart SensMe technology. It actually analyses individual songs stored on your phone, and works out what suits the mood you specify. Feeling cheery? With a touch of the screen, you’ll have a sunshine playlist ready to go.
You can buy tracks right on it
Sure, you can transfer music to the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman straight from your computer, but if you’re out and about, you can cut out the PC altogether and simply buy a track and download it there and then. The PlayNow store can be launched right from the homescreen, and lets you grab tunes and games aplenty.
You can hear what’s coming up next
You’ll find a button on the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman with a unique ability. It’s the Zappin key, and it lets you preview the chorus (That’s right, the chorus, not the first few seconds) of what’s coming up next, so you can decide quickly whether to add it as a favourite, or skip right over it. Once again, Sony’s Ericsson’s individual track analysis pays off and saves you skipping through the silence at the beginning of a track just to find out which song it is.
You can sing along with the words
Reckon video killed the radio star? The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman’s clever karaoke function lowers the volume of the vocals on a track so you can barely hear them, letting you croon along over the top uninterrupted. Just try not to get carried away on the bus.
