Tackling the digital divide

There are around two million households that struggle to afford their mobile service in the UK today, and 8.5 million adults lack the most basic digital skills.*

As part of our sustainability strategy, the Better Connections Plan, we’ve set bold and ambitious commitments to create a better, more connected country for everyone.

By the end of 2025, we will:

  • connect 1 million digitally excluded people across the UK 
  • equip 6 million people with skills and tools to help them feel more connected to our digital society

We’re working with industry peers, civil society and government to help everyone access devices, stay connected, develop digital literacy and stay safe online.
