Virgin Media O2 has announced that Newcastle native Sam Fender is returning to his hometown to perform an exclusive gig on Tuesday 24 May.

Taking place at O2 City Hall Newcastle, the intimate show will offer a unique opportunity for fans to see the singer-songwriter up-close-and-personal on the back of his sell-out arena tour. It is the first time that Sam Fender has ever performed at the venue.

875 pairs of tickets will be up for grabs for Virgin Media and O2 customers through a Priority prize draw, with all proceeds going direct to North East Homeless, a local charity in which Sam has recently been named a patron.

North East Homeless is a charity providing training, support – including food and emergency equipment – and employment for people who are experiencing homelessness or who have lived through such hardships.

Every £5 donated grants one entry into the draw, with entries capped at eight per customer. The prize draw is open from 10am on Monday 25 April and will close at 23.59 on Sunday 15 May 2022 and winners will be revealed on Tuesday 17 May.

Sam Fender, commenting on the exclusive Priority gig, said:

“This is our last hometown show of the year and it’s going to be super special. It’s an intimate one and our first time playing the legendary O2 City Hall! All money raised from the ticket ballot is going to North East Homeless, an amazing cause that’s close to my heart. The work that Brian and the team do to help the most vulnerable in our community is incredible.”

Virgin Media and O2 customers can register on the Priority app, which was formally exclusively available for O2 customers, to receive a huge range of benefits at no extra cost – from Priority Tickets, which gives access to tickets for thousands of events and gigs at hundreds of venues across the UK up to 48 hours before general sale, to a whole host of rewards from a range of high street brands including Greggs, Caffè Nero, ODEON and more.

Virgin Media cable customers simply need to download the Priority app via their relevant app store and register using the email address that is linked to their My Virgin Media account. Those on O2 can register using their mobile number.
